What You Should Know About Your Peugeot Key Fob

Keyless Entry

Some key fobs have physical keys that can be used to open your vehicle (often for the driver's side door, but sometimes the boot as well). You can open them by lifting a flap or pressing a button. The physical key can then be pulled out of the slot inside the case.
Key fobs may be damaged by water, particularly in the event that the chips inside are exposed to salty or soapy water. In some instances, a chip that is damaged can cause key fobs to stop working. If this occurs the key fob has to be replaced - typically by the dealer. Locksmiths can provide replacement keys much faster and at lower costs than dealerships.
Remote Start
If your key fob is equipped with the remote start feature it allows you to start the engine without having to hold the keys to your car in hands. This is especially helpful in hot weather and you're trying to cool down your car when you're running the errands. There are a few things that you should know before you use this feature.
Some key fobs come with an engine start button that you can press to start your car remotely (for instance, Ford has a circular an arrow which is moving clockwise around its key fob). Others, such as Mazdas key fob, require you to first secure the key, and then press the start button.
There may be a weak or dead battery in your key fob, if you're not able to start your car. This is due to the fact that the batteries inside the key fob aren't able anymore to send an intense signal to the car's system.

Door Locks
